Questo articolo prende in esame il mancato appuntamento tra Elementi di critica omosessuale di Mario Mieli (1977) e La volontà di sapere di Michel Foucault (1976). Sebbene la quasi contemporaneità delle pubblicazioni e una incompatibilità teorica abbiano impedito un dialogo diretto, questo lavoro mira a valorizzare la loro distanza come un confronto sul tema dell’identità. In particolare, partendo dalle  diverse forme testuali delle due opere, si prenderà in esame il diverso uso del “noi” nelle loro rispettive opere mettendo in luce il rapporto tra testo, teoria e praxis.

This article aims to investigate the missed encounter between Mario Mieli’s Towards a Gay Communism: Elements of a Homosexual Critique (1977) and Michel Foucault’s The Will to Knowledge (1976). Although the close publication dates and underlying theoretical incompatibilities prevented a direct dialogue, this paper aims to value their distance as a productive confrontation concerning identity. In particular, by initially looking at the different textual forms of the two works, the article examines the contrasting uses of the pronoun “noi” across the two texts shedding light on the relationship between text, theory, and praxis.
